Why’d I Get Mad At Myself? | VLOG #98 | what I ate today [Nutritarian/Vegan] by cheri | Oct 11, 2016 | Vlog | 4 comments 4 Comments Season on 10/13/2016 at 1:33 pm Hi, Cheri, No need to get bummed or feel embarrassed. I’ve been watching your vlogs for a few weeks now and though I rarely comment online I just had to say something. Your honesty is inspiring. It’s even better for those of us who struggle and wonder why we can’t be perfect. You look amazing, you eat so many things that are healthy for you, and you’re helping others (me!) to feel like maybe they can get there, too. I was on the verge of giving up and deciding my goal weight is an impossible fantasy after going through menopause (bleah, menopause), but running into your vlog has got me motivated again. I’ve just started the six-week plan (again; I’ve been trying for about three years now. It was so great to find out I’m not the only one who’s had this try and try again experience). I did lose weight eating nutritarian, and I’ve never gained back what I lost, but it’s been difficult to keep going. You’re helping me to stay in the groove, and I’ve lost 2 lbs. in the past few days. My goal weight is only 18 lbs. away. I’d love to reach it by my 58th birthday in December (that’s 7 weeks and 2 days away). A heartfelt thank you, thank you, Cheri, for all you do. I hope you’ll continue. I know there are others out there like me. We may not always reach out and say something, but you’re making a difference! cheri on 10/14/2016 at 5:44 pm SEASON!!!! Ok, I had to gather my thoughts to respond thoroughly enough. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to post this. When I read this yesterday, I started crying, no joke, it touched me so much. I so very appreciate what you’ve told me here. I’m glad that we are so similar in stories that you feel you can relate. That’s my ultimate goal. I jst want to show what it’s like to do in REAL LIFE, not the “highlight reel” type stories that always show up on people’s facebook walls, etc. There is a LOT of work that goes into being a Nutritarian, and I don’t want people tot think it’s easy and that they’re something wrong with them if it isn’t…but that even if it isn’t easy, it’s still do-able. PLEASE, don’t EVER give up. Even if you are only doing 5% Nutritarian for a period of time, that’s still better than 0% Nutritarian. That’s for sure. Even if it’s 0% for a while, never giving up and just keep coming back to it when you’re ready. That’s the best you can do for yourself. And it’s amazing to hear you haven’t gained back weight you’ve lost. You WILL get to your goal on your birthday! I know you can. Thank you again, for taking the time to encourage me as well. It means more to me than you’ll ever know, especially when I’m just trying to get this thing off the ground. :) A heartfelt thank you to you as well, Season. And enjoy your weekend!! <3 <3 Season on 10/15/2016 at 2:12 pm Thank you for the kind and encouraging response, Cheri. I’m going to start food journaling again, to keep track of what I’m eating. Cravings are bad at times, but roasted chickpeas have been my go-to snack for the past few years (and if I drop any on the floor, my kitten has a blast batting them around till she loses them under the sofa or stove). I’ve found that crocheting keeps my hands busy and I’m not as inclined to snack at night (that’s the hardest time for me, especially if I decide to watch a movie). I’m looking forward to seeing “How NOT to Drink Kombucha.” I’ve never tried it, but maybe I will, and I’d better know what not to do (: ♥♥♥ cheri on 10/16/2016 at 5:25 pm Oh my gosh, I need to try that with my cats Season, great idea. :) My one cat Moo loves to bat my hairties around. This way I won’t lose my favorite ones, and she can still be entertained. :P I wish you the best of luck with your techniques. We all have to find what works for us. So cool to see what works best for you. And the How NOT to Drink Kombucha one is mostly a joke, but entertaining. I was still cleaning dried kombucha off my desk today… :P It’s a weird drink, and I didn’t like it at first, but it definitely grew on me and became a great “tool” during cravings for me! <3 <3 Happy rest of your Sunday.
