Everywhere you go already (it’s a little frightening here actually) you see seasonal things. One radio station started playing all Christmas music literally before Halloween. It was sick!! So in the vein of seasonal drinks because we can’t escape it now, I’ve created a recipe for a Pumpkin Spice Latte Shot.
It’s in the category of “Emergency” rather than “Cocktail”, because it has only two mandatory ingredients and two optional ingredients, but let’s face it people, when you’re taking shots, does it really matter how complicated it is? I mean, really, the less ingredients the better for shots – get it down the hatch quicker!
Am I right, or am I right??
Everywhere you go you can find Pumpkin Spice stuff — Starbucks, Panera Bread — I think even Home Depot is probably offering a pumpkin-flavored plywood this season. So give this shot a try. And if you don’t like it, hey, just take a few more and voila — it will change your mind for you!
Pumpkin Spice Latte Shot
INGREDIENTS
1 oz Pumpkin Spice flavored vodka
1 oz coffee-flavored liqueur
dollop of whipped cream, optional
sprinkle of cinnamon, optional
DIRECTIONS
Pour vodka and coffee liqueur into a large shot glass. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon, if desired. Shoot!
NOTE: If you aren’t a fan of all the new-fangled flavored vodkas, you could just use more coffee liqueur and add some pumpkin spice flavored syrup. Just a thought…
what a fun drink idea for the parties. I love the idea of adding coffee liquer
Hm, that sounds interesting. Where do you get pumpkin spice flavoured vodka, though?
Thank you Dixya…yeah, I’m sort of on a Kahlua kick right now… :D
Hi Chris! We have all the different vodka flavors at the liquor stores here, and I’m pretty sure the Pumpkin Pie one is just seasonal for Thanksgiving. If you don’t celebrate any pumpkin-pie-loving holidays in Germany, I’m sure it would be difficult to find. You could use a substitution of pumpkin spice flavored syrup, which I’m sure could be ordered online. Or just do what I do when I can’t find a certain liquor for a recipe…just drink Kahlua shots straight up! :D
Good luck! :D
