Oh, hi there! If you’re one of my Dear Readers that’s been with me since the beginning back in February, you’ll notice quite a change today from the blog you used to know. I’ve gone and changed out the theme of the website, to something that I think will suit my needs a bit more in the future. Plus, I think it looks snazzy.
So I hope you enjoy it. Of course, there are things that I haven’t had the opportunity to customize yet, because I wanted to go live with it more than I wanted everything to be perfect, so as all works in progress, please bear with me as I continually upgrade and customize things for a while.
Actually, this whole process has felt a lot like moving in real life:
Oh, look at this old stuff we haven’t looked at in years! Where are we going to put this now? Do we really need this? Crap, this is a lot of work. I shouldn’t have done this! I am crazy. I hate myself for doing this. Oh, we’re almost done. I’m about to pull out my hair. I swear, I am never doing this again, never ever again for as long as I live.
Moving sucks.
But we’re done now! Thanks for bearing with me as I’ve been absent for a couple days. Back to our regularly scheduled programming.

I love the new look! And I know how tiring changing the look of your blog can be…I actually transferred mine from Blogger to WordPress some time back and felt like I actually moved house! Ha! I’m still exploring themes on WordPress too so things are still going to change if I fancy something else. So happy for your new look!

Hi Cheri! i love the new look! Did you do this by yourself? I just loaded Thesis on my blog today to redo it! Wish me luck….and maybe a little advice?! Well done lady!
Hey Cathy!! Thank you soo much. Yep, I did this by myself. I hope I never have to do it myself again!! :D I was looking at the Thesis theme too, but ultimately chose this one for looks and other stuff. This one has a recipe function as well in the post editor, so I’m excited to look into that. But a lot of people use Thesis, I know, so that one’s probably good too. I don’t know what your former website looked like, but I love what you have done here … what theme did you use? How long did it take you to switch from one theme to another? What was the hardest part of swtiching themes? And what works better for you with this new theme? As a WrodPress website developer I would love to know about why you chose this theme and how you liked working with it.
Hi Yvonne! Thank you so much. The theme I used is called Foodpress from Themeforest. It took me about 3 days, but would have taken only a day if I’d just been super super diligent. But I needed breaks! :D The hardest part of switching themes to me is the tedium of editing pictures, uploading, linking, placing, etc. It tires me out! :D This theme is great because of the simplicity and how easy it is to navigate. Also, it’s designed for food sites, so it has some cool features. I used a Plugin called Theme Test Drive and that made the technical part suuuuper simple! :D Email me if you want to talk more in depth!
