You’re reading this page because eating healthy is overwhelming and you just want someone to tell you where to start.
You’re here because you have heard that eating healthy can be delicious, but you’re just not personally convinced. And you want someone to introduce you to that way of life…and help it make sense.
There are so many people saying so many different things, and you’re sick of all the mixed messages.
You just want to lose weight, feel healthy, feel good, protect yourself from diseases and sicknesses and live as long as possible.
Well my friend, that’s what I promise to do for you. You’re in good hands.
Starting out, getting healthy is going to take more time and energy than you’re currently putting in. But the good news is, over time it will get much easier until the point where you won’t have to think about it much at all.
That I guarantee.
I know because I used to be there and I came back from that. I used to eat very poorly for many, many years of my life. I was always overweight, had terrible energy…and just knew there was another way.
And I knew there was a way that you could eat the right foods, not feel that crazy dieting feeling anymore, feel satisfied after meals, lose the cravings and be at a healthy weight…easily. I knew it must be possible…and I was right! I found Eat to Live lifestyle and I am definitely drinking the proverbial Eat to Live kool-aid. :D
At first in this lifestyle, changing your habits will take up a lot of your life and focus because in order to truly get healthy and lose weight, you need to understand Why. Not just How.
Now, let me walk you through a great progression of activities that you can accomplish (at your own pace!) that will get you moving and up to speed. It’s like a little mini-course. You’ll know just what to do in no time and you’ll be well on your way to accomplishing your health goals.
And remember: If you start now, Future You will thank you very soon.
These steps are not necessarily in the correct order for you, but you will have a great overview of what to do after going through ALL of this information.
STEP 1: Watch these 3 videos and read this book.
These are about the health transformation I’m talking about.

And here is Dr. Fuhrman (much of my advice is based on his work) on his famous PBS special where he explains start to finish why and how to make the transformation to this nutrient-dense, plant-rich diet
One of the most fascinating videos I have ever seen, this is a TED talk by Dr. Doug Lisle, and you will learn all about why you eat the way you do and why it is so hard to get out of our patterns
And read the book Eat to Live. It is the book that has completely changed my life and the way I think about food. If you read it thoroughly, you will have a great understanding of the lifestyle and how to get started. (But the video above of Dr. Furhman speaking on PBS is a good intro if you don’t have time to read right now.)
STEP 2: Follow me on Instagram (or Facebook) for hundreds of easy meal ideas.
Don’t worry, you don’t have to make these meals yet! :) But just familiarizing yourself with the bounty of foods you’ll eat and getting a feel for how easy they are to prepare, helps to lessen the anxiety and overwhelming feeling of changing your lifestyle. I publish a new, 7-minute-or-less video every single day. I talk about topics like meals I prepared that were easy and amazing-tasting, as well as little “Nutrient Nuggets” that give all the information you’ll need to educate yourself on how and why to make the Eat to Live Nutritarian lifestyle part of your life.

Why Is This Website Called The Watering Mouth?
I started this website site in early 2012 and back then, it was just a typical, completely basic, all-food-loving, foodie site.
But after a year and a half, I discovered my true passion which was healthy eating. And I wanted to tell the whole world about it!
So this website became it’s truest self in the year 2013 when I had finally discovered the Nutritarian lifestyle, after having read the book Eat to Live by Dr. Joel Fuhrman.
In the book Eat to Live, Dr. Fuhrman talks about a concept called “True Hunger”. If you’ve read the book or been a Nutritarian for any period of time, you’d be quite familiar with this concept. Dr. Furhman posits that the hunger symptoms we are all normally accustomed to such as…
- hunger pangs
…are actually symptoms of food withdrawal caused by the toxic and addictive Standard American Diet.
Dr. Furhman takes this theory one step further by suggesting that the true feelings we are supposed to experience when we are hungry, or experiencing “True Hunger” as he aptly names it, are the following:
- a feeling of yearning in the mouth, throat and upper chest only
- a watering mouth
And considering The Watering Mouth was already the name of my website, and I myself was already in touch with these feelings of True Hunger after detoxing for a couple years in the beginning of my lifestyle change, I consider this website name to be True Fate. :)
Who is Cheri Alberts?
Cheri Alberts is a married woman in her mid-30’s. She and her husband share their home with 2 adopted cats: one is a super bratty princess named Vincent (yes, Vincent is a girl, don’t ask) and the other is a sweet but lazy, white and black kitty named Moo.
And don’t worry, you can see more of Cheri’s furry family members on the YouTube vlog series she did back in 2016.
Cheri’s day job is as an Internet Marketing Consultant for a high-profile healthy eating website and she absolutely loves her work. She would also love for The Watering Mouth to become a much bigger part of her professional (read: bread-winning) life. She works hard every single day to turn this dream into a reality.
In 2016, Cheri earned her Certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from eCornell University and for this, she is super proud.
