Sometimes you just feel like you’re on it. Ya know? When the stars align and everything seems to just come together and you have the motivation and self-control you could never conjure before. Like, where does it come from?

I’m just on it. I’m on Day 7 of my 42 Day Challenge right now and I show no signs of stopping. I think it’s a mix of a lot of factors, but also being so knowledgeable and so emotionally invested. I can’t stop.

I’m already down 4.6 pounds so far. That’s fun. Looking in the mirror and seeing new changes every day. And more energy, and sense of well-being. Priceless.

Sometimes when a person who doesn’t eat like me says something like they’d “rather enjoy life”, I wish I could make them see that this is enjoying life. And that I used to argue the same way back before I started getting more vigilant. But you can’t convince those who don’t want to see. So I just stick with those who accept me and what I do.

Memorial Day weekend was a success. Maybe some of the success comes from how public I am making this thing. I tell everyone I might have food with about it beforehand, so they are well aware. We had friends over on Saturday night, and I had alerted them to the new tons of water, low salt, super healthy kick I was on. And they were totally on board!

The response I usually get from people is that they are totally down to have healthy food. I think most people are trying to get their stuff down pat, that when someone who seems like they have it together offers to cook for them, or take them to a new restaurant, they are totally willing to try it out.

So when I made the meal for my friends, it was totally welcome for them. I admit though, I totally hemmed and hawed for the whole week about what I was going to make. I settled on a huge Southwest Salad with avocado and lemon juice as the dressing. My friend wasn’t into avocado though, so I gave him some Caesar dressing I had in the fridge and that was great.

Then I also made some Veggie Burger Patties that I hadn’t had in a while, and those were a hit too. Anyone can choke down some healthy food for a meal, ya know? I don’t ever know how they really feel because they’ll always say it’s good. But I did make their veggie burger patties with oil, and just made mine dry. I ate them with bites of salad and tomato, and they were really delicious.

And even me, I’m still not used to the lack of salt. I think everything I make lately is super bland, but I’m trying to enjoy. And what flavor I do taste, I actually do genuinely love. It’s just not enough of it for me at the moment.

I’m only 1 week in. 5 more to go!

I’ve been having success by creating the Kitchen Sink Salad (just whatever is in the fridge) plus whatever new dressing I find. I make a new dressing every 5 days or so, and that keeps me interested. Everything is 100% nutritarian. I haven’t slipped even a tiny bit.
